Troy

   Troy Leonard Borchert, age 41, of Faribault, MN formerly Mankato, MN and Bismarck, ND died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at his home due to complications of diabetes.
   Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, MN on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 p.m. until time of service. Interment to follow in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault, MN
   Troy Leonard, son of Winoma Shirley (Susan) “Sue” Borchert was born March 27, 1967 in Mankato, MN and raised with the assistance of his grandparents, August F. and Winoma (Kirkman) Borchert in Faribault, MN. The family moved to Bismarck, ND in 1971 where Troy graduated from Bismarck High School. He went on to attend the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks and received his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of St. Mary’s, Bismarck in 1996. Following graduation, Troy and longtime girlfriend, Connie Berger moved to Mankato where he worked for Taylor Corp/Carlson Craft. On May 26, 2001, Troy and Connie were married on the Hawkeye Breeders Property in Adel, IA. Troy later moved to Faribault, MN where he worked for Nelson’s Flashback Restaurant and currently J&J Taxi. Troy was an avid reader, adored cats, had a passion for cooking, enjoyed fishing all year round, and had a longtime interest in Star Wars, comic books, The Minnesota Vikings and music of all genres. Troy’s sense of humor and warm heart touched many people in his brief time with us. He will be missed by the many who loved him dearly.
   Troy is survived by his birth mother, Susan (Richard) Schneider of Safford, AZ; wife of seven years, Connie of Mankato; brother, August D. Borchert of Warsaw; two sisters, Tonya R. Schneider of Williston, ND; Tara (Troy) Anderson of Mankato; aunt, Doris (Lloyd) Jungmann of Adel, IA; sister-in-law Nancy (Roger) Borchert of Winona, great uncle Steve Kirkman of Adel, IA; nieces, Kim (Troy), Bridget, Madison, Kennedy, Jessica; nephews, Mark, Nathan, Dakota; and six grandchildren.
   Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents/adoptive parents, August F. and Winoma S. Borchert; brother Roger N. Borchert and sister-in-law, Pamela C. Borchert.
