     Adeline (Mrs. Berthold) Streufert, of Glencoe and formerly of Faribault, died on her 85th birthday, Friday, May 30, 2008 at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
     Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.,  Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church, Faribault. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
     Visitation will be held at the Johnson - McBride Funeral Chapel, Glencoe on Monday, June 2, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m; at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and also at the church one hour prior to the service.
     Adeline Elsie Pauline, daughter of Paul and Elsie (Krueger) Sorgatz, was born on May 30, 1923 in Waterville. She attended school in Waterville, Trinity Lutheran School in Faribault, Walker High School, and graduated from Waterville High School. Adeline attended nursing school in St. Louis, MO. She married Berthold O. Streufert on June 20, 1943 in Waterville. They lived in Green Isle Township, Lester Prairie, Lone Oak (Eagan), Faribault, Watertown, WI, Lakefield, and Elmhurst, IL. They retired to Litchfield in 1983 and later moved to Faribault in 1990.
      She is survived by seven children: Kathy (Alan) Forsberg of Mankato, Lorna (Gene) Menzel of Kenner, LA, Rich (Carol) Streufert of Glencoe, Pam (Rick) Frost of Neenah, WI, Dale (Julie) Streufert of Kirkwood, MO, Jim (Sylvia) Streufert of Lake City, IA and John (Allison) Streufert of Lake City, IA; 12 grandchildren: Andrew (Anna) Forsberg, Michelle Forsberg, Paul (Alexis) Forsberg, Joe (Amanda) Streufert, Becky (Mark) Preus, Heather Frost, Tiffany Frost, Amy Streufert, Cara Streufert, Karl Streufert, Erik Streufert and Evan Streufert; three great-grandchildren: Cavin Streufert, Hannah Preus and Paul Preus.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul in 1975 and Elsie in 1934; her step mothers, Anna in 1947 and Celia in 1977; her husband, Bert in 1994; one brother, Luther Sorgatz in 1943; one sister Louise Wood in 1977; one son, Robert in 1969.

Memories

Dear Ones - We are so sorry that we unable to be with you these days. We loved your Mother so much and your Dad. With you are thankful for their Homegoing to the Lord and to each other. Gratitude fills our hearts for them and the times we had together. They inspired us with their faithfulness and selflessness. We see the same qualities now in each of you. Memories

Mom and I extend our deepest sympany on the death of your mom. I was hoping to attend the funeral, however, several other commitments are preventing me from doing so. I recently started a new job the end of April. That coupled with Nathan's school activities and an unplanned Dr. visit for Lonnie has pretty much put a stop to the trip. Both mom and I have wonderful memories of your family. Mom's, of course, go back many years when Lorna was young. Mine begins when your dad took the call to Bethesda. From that point on, my friendship with your family grew. John and I used to do things together since we were relatively close in age. I taught him how to ride a bike and he taught me how to shoot pool. :) When your parents moved to IL, Dale and Jim stayed with us until the school year was over. In considered both of them my "older brothers." Over the years, the friendship between our families has continued. Please continue to stay in touch and I will try to do likewise.
