ERICK R. STENBAKKEN
Erick
Erick R. Stenbakken,
age 86, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the District One
Hospital, Faribault.
Services will be
held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran
Church, Faribault, with the Reverend Richard L. Jorgensen officiating.
A memorial
visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday,
January 8, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior
to the services on Friday.
Erick R., the son of
Hans and Thilda (Jordahl) Stenbakken, was born on February 26, 1922 in
Kenyon. He graduated from the Faribault High School in 1941. He served
in the U.S. Air Force during WW II. He married Lois Hildebrandt in South
Dakota. He was formerly employed as an auto mechanic and also in building
construction.
He is survived by
his wife, Lois; two children, Chris Schrot of Faribault and Randy
Stenbakken of Faribault; three step sons, Lyle (and Nancy) Grohman of
Faribault, Tom (and Jacqui) Grohman of Minneapolis and Bill Grohman of
Faribault; two daughters from a previous marriage, Donna and Cheryl of
Idaho; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one brother, Russell
(and Leila) Stenbakken of Faribault.
He was preceded in
death by one son in law, Michael “Mike” Schrot; one daughter in law,
Laurie Grohman; his parents; and two brothers, Herman and Marlin
Stenbakken.
