   Richard “Dick” Dale Shankey, age 67 of Morristown, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
   Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 149, Morristown at the funeral home.
   A memorial visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and also in the funeral home for one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
   Richard Dale, the son of Martin and Frances (Christ) Shankey was born on May 27, 1941 in Red Wing. He married Evelyn Fierst on February 27, 1965 in Faribault. Dick served in U. S. Marines. He was formerly employed by Northfield and Faribault Ready Mix. He was currently the caretaker of Riverside Cemetery, Morristown.
   He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three children, Ronald Shankey of Hudson, WI and former daughter-in-law, Dawn, Robert (and Tina) Shankey of Faribault, and Crissie (and Justin Miller of New Prague; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Patrick, Kelia, Andrew and Jessica Shankey, Carter, Mavrick, Joshua and Bryce Miller; three sisters, Gladys Meyer of Faribault, Helen Eul of LeRoy and Jeanette (and Harold) Keilen of Faribault; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
   He is preceded in death by his son, Bob in infancy; his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Donald Shankey.
