    LaVerne D. “Vern” Richardson, age 77, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at District One Hospital, Faribault.
    Memorial services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Faribault, on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Craig Breimhorst officiating. Interment and military rites will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
   Memorial visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. and also on Monday for one hour prior to the service at church.
   LaVerne Dale, the son of Harvey and Ada (Shaw) Richardson, was born May 15, 1930 in Frankford Township, Mower County. He served in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. He married Joan Lasha and she preceded him in death. On August 1, 1986, he married Ronna (Little) Thompson in Faribault. He was formerly employed by Hormel in Austin, the Post Office in Minneapolis, as a security guard and part time for the Moose Lodge in Faribault. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Owatonna and American Legion Post 43 of Faribault.
   He is survived by his wife, Ronna of Faribault; three children, Rhonda (and Dave) Cooper, Russell (and Bobbie) Richardson and Rick (and Kristie) Richardson, all of Davenport, IA; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean (and Kenneth) Fretty and Darlene (and Dick) Steinhorst of Grand Meadow; one brother, Don (and Gloria) Richardson of Stewartville; and one sister in law, Mavis Richardson of Austin.
   He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Richardson.
