Duane

   Duane R. Ozmun, age 60, of Faribault, went to join the angels peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 1, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.
   Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Steven J. Kuehne, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault officiating.
   Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
   Duane Richard, the son of Henry and Olive (Hendrickson) Ozmun was born on December 3, 1947 in Paynesville. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 in Vietnam. On October 8, 1971, he married Linda Fierst in Faribault. He was a truck driver and a car salesman. Duane enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, and caring for his cars, but he dedicated his time to his grandchildren.
   He is survived by his wife, Linda; two children, Nichole (and Neriah) Farmer and Duane T. Ozmun all of Faribault; six grandchildren, Hannah, Parker and Owen Farmer, all of Faribault, Cortney Ozmun and Ashley Caron of Morristown and Tanner Ozmun of Owatonna; eight siblings, Roger Ozmun, Maxine Voegele, Irene Ozmun, Charles (and Kathy) Ozmun, all of Faribault, Jean (and John) Hagenbrock of Wisconsin, Charlotte Teske, Marcelle (and Stan) Babcock and Robert (and Teresa) Ozmun, all of Faribault.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Melony Ozmun; two sisters, Arlene and Marlys Ozmun; two sisters in law, Janet Ozmun and Julie Fierst; and two brothers in law, Dick Voegele and Ronald Teske.

Hi Linda, It's been along time! I'm was so sorry to about Duane. Gary Benton, actually told me about a month after his passing, I have a lot of good memories of crazy day's with him, Peney, Phil, Tate, Ralph, Gary , and the rest of the boy's. I used to stop down and B.S. with him when he was working for Butch but I haven't seen you guy's for years. How is the rest of the family doing? I have often thought about how/what you all have been doing over the years? Memories

I went to school with Duane, haven't seen him in many years. He was always alot of fun to be around. My prayers are with all of his family and loved ones. I lost my youngest son a few years back, it is hard and you feel like you have lost a part of your heart. But I was told God, had more important things for him to do. All my life I looked up to my Uncle Duane. He was my hero in many ways-he served in Viet-Nam,and survived a heart transplant. He was also an awesome father, and Grandfather, and husband. He and Linda did almost EVERYTHING together.They spent lots of time with their Children and Grandchildren... If things got tough-they dealt with it together as a team.When they attended family gatherings-always so fun and positive.I will always be so very proud to have had Duane for an Uncle. I know times are tough right now-but remember he left you all with such fabulous, and happy memories-because he loved you and cared about you with all the power a man could ever possibly do so!!!
