Mary Ann
Mary Ann Marik,
age 67, of Faribault, died peacefully on Saturday, August 4,
2007 at her home after a long illness.
Funeral Services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on
Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:30 am with the Reverend Richard Hegal, pastor
of First Lutheran Church, Blooming Prairie, officiating. Interment will be
held in the Steele Center Lutheran Cemetery, Steele County, Minnesota
Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home on Thursday,
August 9 from
4 to 8 p.m. and also for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Mary Ann Wallace was born on July 11, 1940 in Walcott Township,
Rice County,
Minnesota to Blanche Wallace and Willis Hubbard and was raised by her
grandparents, Mabel and Ed Townley. She attended Medford schools and later
received her LPN from Faribault Vocational College. She married Lloyd Marik
on June 13, 1957 in Mason City, Iowa. Mary Ann ran a licensed day care out
of her home and worked many years in the nursing field before retiring from
St. Lucas Care Center in 2005. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and
researching family history.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her five children, Kathy (and
Rick) Hallanger of Faribault, Shelly Marik of Kasson, Tammy (and Marty)
Heimer of Faribault, Judy Marik of Minneapolis and Philip Marik of
Faribault; two grandchildren, Aubrie Hallanger and Jonathan Heimer; and two
aunts, Helen Wanous of Elysian and Harriet Fuller of Spring Grove, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Charles Bock
Jr.; and one son, Verlyle Marik.
