Luverne F.
"Dick" Hagel, age 82, of Faribault, went to be in the arms of our
Savior on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at District One Hospital, Faribault.
Funeral services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault, on
Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Steven J.
Kuehne and the Reverend Andrew Ritchie officiating. Interment will be at
Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault with veteranšs military rites provided
by Central Veterans Association, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault, on
Tuesday, September 25th from 3 to 8 p.m. and also on Wednesday for one hour
prior to the service.
Arrangements are with the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Luverne F. Hagel was born on March 24, 1925 to William and Hattie
(Melchert) Hagel. He married Marian Hannaman on September 18, 1949 in Blue
Earth. He was formerly employed by Lampert's, Peterson Art, Faribault Woolen
Mills and the Faribault Regional Center. During his retirement, Dick became
a carpenter of God helping to build and maintain Trinity Lutheran Church.
He also helped his wife, Marian, with her cake business and baking pies at
Trinity Lutheran Church. Dick was also a farmer and was always willing to
help others, including serving as a foster parent for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian; four children, Deborah
(and John) Smits of Faribault, Rebecca (and Robert) Glende of Faribault,
Phillip (and Angie) Hagel of Andover and Mary (and William) Jewison of
Faribault; five grandchildren, Chelsea Smits, Vanessa Smits (and Joe
Lenway), Tim Glende, Nick Jewison and Marissa Jewison; sisters in law and
brothers in law, Caroline (and Paul) Heidorn of Utica, NE, Jan Hannaman of
Plymouth, James (and JoAnn) Hannaman of Savage, Frederick (and Virginia)
Hannaman of Burleson, TX and Anna Vanderpool of Eagan; and nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reinhold and
Edgar Hagel; three brothers in law, Paul Hannaman, Richard Hannaman and
James Hogsted; two sisters in law, Francine Hannaman and Delores Hagel; and
three nephews, Michael Hagel and Jon and Paul Hannaman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran
Church, Faribault Lutheran School, Missions Made Possible- Philippines or
the donoršs choice.
Dick's love of God and family showed in all his works and deeds. Well
done thou good and faithful servant!
