So sorry to hear of Jerry's death. He passed away on my deceased husband's birthdate. I remember Jerry pulling a stunt on me not so long ago at Arlene and James Wick's Anniversary. What a loss! My prayers are with the whole family. Rita Cech 612-720-7262 cell
I was very sad to hear about Darrell, he was a good man and always had good advice for you. I got to know him when I was younger working at Koke's, He always made sure to stop in and say hi, and see how you were doing, he would buy a pop and sit down and talk until he had a meeting at the bank. It is a very sad day when the world loses a great person. He will be missed deeply by everyone that knew him. Over the years I didn't see him as much, but when I did we would always catch up, and he never forgot a name even if it had been a year since he seen you last. He will be missed by all.
Darrell, Bonnie, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My husband and I were at the wake but could not stay long enough to talk to you. We will miss his smile and his stories. He meant alot to many people, and we are glad we knew darrell
My deepest sympathy to you. I am with you in thought and prayers.
I was very supprised to hear that Darrell passed away. I always looked up to him as a role model. You have our prayers. We are sorry tht we will not be able to be there for the funeral.
You have our Deepest Sympathy We are Sorry to hear about Darrell. He was a very helpful and kind man. He will be sadly missed.
Bonnie, I'm so sorry to hear of the death of your husband. Hopefully, the wonderful memories and good times you had will carry you throught the hard and lonely day ahead. Take care, Patty
Darryl's smile and good nature warmed the hearts of everyone who knew him. Like my brother, I enjoyed learning the fine art of fishing for bullheads in his back yard (sometimes with bait!). Even as I grew older, and came home infrequently when in college, it was always good to see Darryl, and learn the newest joke after church on Sundays. Darryl was also my sponsor for the Miss Morristown pagent (as he was for my sister the year before); and I know that we were both so grateful for the experience and his support. I don't have the words to say how much he will be missed, or the depth of my feelings for his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I spent many summer afternoons fishing from the dock at Darrell's house, often having to listen to a discussion on why his long cane pole was better than my "fancy" spinning tackle...but the proof was in the bucket! It didn't take long until I would "forget" my fishing pole at home and spend a few hours passing the cane pole back and forth with Darrell and playing with his dog. To this day, my wife (then girlfriend) still knows Darrell as "the guy that had a new practical joke every time we bumped into him". He was a good friend, and a constant source of smiles whenever he was around. It seems like just yesterday we were at his retirement party asking him what he planned to do now that he gotten the business of working out of the way (like Darrell was ever one to just sit around anyway!). Our condolences to his family, and to all whose lives he touched - Darrell, this fish is for you!
Bonnie, I had met your husband through a couple friends of mine from Eden Valley, Rich Logaeis, Frank Hentges, WWally Blomker-I only remember him as a really nice friendly guy. I'm really sorry that you have lost him and have to go through all the pain that it brings.Time does heal it somewhat and we have to go on living. Like Andy Revering, I lost my wife about 6 years ago to breast cancer and it's tough but you can get through it with support from friends , your church and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Don Schreifels
Uncle Jerry was a very special person. It is very hard to find another person that gave so much of their time for others. I feel very fortunate to have had him for an uncle and he will be sorely missed. Uncle Jerry had a passion for jokes which can be seen with his traveling "joke kit". It was always fun to see the expression on peoples faces when they first here or see his material. Some of the classics were when the "fart machine" first came out and the phony "lottery ticket" scam that happened in the mall. As the past day has gone and the shock is still present, I can't help but thinking about the funny things that happened over all the years. I guess that that's the way I want to remember him.
Bonnie: I just learned of the loss of your husband Darrell via an e-mail sent by Gayle to Pokey. My deepest sympathay goes out to you and your family. You may have heard that I lost my wife Tiffany a year ago this past December to cancer. It is the most difficult thing I've ever experienced, so I know what you are going through. As hard as it is, we still go on. I've found the secret to getting through such emense loss is staying as busy as possible. I went back to work full time here at the Juvenile Court in Tucson, and I saddle up and ride my horse every weekend. I know that I'm not past it yet, and I'm told it sometimes takes two to three years. You can do it too, I know you can. Getting through the initial part, wake, funeral, etc., is tough. I found that crying is natural and talking to God helps. You have lots of family and friends who support you, and you'll be ok. It just takes a little while. All my best. Andy Revering
