Lloyd V.
Marik, age 81, of Faribault, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at District One
Hospital, Faribault.
Funeral Services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home,
Faribault on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend
Richard Hegal, pastor of First Lutheran Church, Blooming Prairie,
officiating. Interment will be held in the Steele Center Lutheran Cemetery,
Steele County, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home on Tuesday,
November 20, 2007 from 3 to 7 p.m. and also for one hour prior to the
service on Wednesday.
Lloyd Verlyle, the son of Anton Marik Jr. and Augusta “Elsie”
(Standke) Marik was born on October 17, 1926 in Somerset Township, Steele
County. He graduated from Owatonna High School. He married Mary Ann Wallace
on June 13, 1957 in Mason City, Iowa. She preceded him in death on August 4,
2007. He farmed the family farm and hauled mail and milk. He was formerly
employed by Kummeths Manufacturing and Gandys both of Owatonna. He served as
Treasurer of the Steele Center Lutheran Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed
antique tractors, old time music, playing cards, watching birds. Lloyd had a
“creative” mind and a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his five children, Kathy (and Rick) Hallanger of
Faribault, Shelly Marik of Kasson, Tammy (and Marty) Heimer of Faribault,
Judy Marik of Minneapolis and Philip Marik of Faribault; two grandchildren,
Aubrie Hallanger and Jonathan Heimer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann;
a son, Verlyle Marik; and one sister, Lanita Marik.
