I met Arlene at Trinity where I am a nursing assistant. Arlene was a very special person to me, more than just a patient or a resident. Even when I didn't work on her wing I made time to visit with her, to share a hug, a kiss, a smile and a laugh. She always referred to me as her baby or daughter and I loved and respected her like a mother. Arlene had a quick sense of humor and I can still hear her laughing. She loved to talk about cooking, crafts and especially her family. She was so proud of all her children. I always liked to go in her room and see the flowers, I think from Doug, on a regular basis. During her time at Trinity I observed a very wonderful, loving, caring family whose faces will be missed at the home. Arlene was such a crafty lady and one of the things that I have to remind me of her are the pumpkin head dolls that she made for halloween. On occassion, I would bring my children, Vince (7) and Bella (5), to visit with her and she gave those as gifts to the kids. They were so excited to have them and everyone that saw them wanted one. I say with a heavy heart that she will be missed dearly by many but I know that she is finally at peace. My thoughts are with her family and friends. With love, Levana Warner
To Arlene's Family: I didn't know Arlene very well at all but I know she was ministered to by parishioners from St. Michael's and All Saint's Church in Lakeville - and Father Dennis from St. Michael's (Farmington) had anointed Arlene in December. I stopped to pray with Arlene and Sandy and Doug the day she died. I was so surprised when I returned to the nursing home the next day to find that her room was empty. I had hoped to get to the visitation and/or funeral for Arlene but circumstances prevented me from doing so. Therefore, I'd just like the family of Arlene to know you are in my thoughts and prayers these days as you mourn the loss of Arlene! I read an obituary that was in the Bolt Funeral Home website and learned a lot about Arlene! She sounded like a quite the gal -- with her sewing, garage-sale-ing, cooking (I'd love to eat her baked beans), her joking and laughing! Blessings and peace to each of you!
