Alta (Mrs. Douglas) Hoy,
age 69, of Owatonna died Thursday, July 12,
2007 at Cedarview Care Center, Owatonna.
Services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford on Monday, July 16,
2007, at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dean Rudloff officiating. Interment will be in Maple
Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held in the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Sunday,
July 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and also for one hour prior to the services in the
church on Monday.
Alta, the daughter of George and Renata L. (Bauer) Pofahl, was born on
August 29, 1937. She graduated from Medford High School in 1955. She
married Douglas Hoy on June 30, 1959 in Medford. She was formerly employed
by Jostenšs of Owatonna from 1955 to 1973. She was also previously employed
by Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford as a secretary and also by Sterling Drug
of Owatonna. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, reading "Better Homes and
Gardens", selling plants and farming with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas of Owatonna; one son, Dan of
Owatonna; three siblings, Ardis (and Mike) Gallas of Pine City, George (and
Judy) Pofahl of Faribault and Annette (and John) Emory of Lakeville; nieces;
nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Voke Nissen;
and one son in infancy.
