My dad emailed me about Uncle Delbert. I wish I had some words to comfort you, Aunt Lucille. I have good memories of Uncle Delbert. I remember when he visited us in Florida. I was in high school, a typical high school girl. We went shopping at the plaza and I found the "most beautiful sweater in the world," (mohair -- remember mohair). I didn't have enough money to buy it for myself, but Uncle Delbert didn't want me to be deprived so he bought me the "most beautiful sweater in the world." He was a sweet man.
Dear Aunt Lucille, We are saddened by the news of Uncle Del's passing. But like our Mother, we are sure he was frustrated with not being able to do the things he enjoyed. We always liked to have you both come visit when in Niantic and talk about the birds, especially our little screech owl family. Take care of yourself. Our love and prayers to Tom and family too. We love you Aunt Lucille. Chad and Mary
Dear Aunt Lucille, Tom and Family I just learned of Uncle Delbert's passing and am saddend by the news. Please accept my/our condolences. What I remember most about Uncle Delbert was his joking or ribbing. Even though he would give a hard time you always knew it was in jest as he was always very caring. He always wanted to know how you were and what you were doing and it wasn't just part of normal conversation you could tell that he really cared. We all will miss him greatly. Love Don and family
What great memories Moose and I have of coming to Fairbault with Uncle Chuck to see Del and you. I also remember the first time I meet you two in Homewood in the sixties with Everett and Doris. Moose and I were dating in high school. Cherish all your great memories you shared with Del and lean on God for your support. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF............WE LOVE YOU and SORRY WE CAN'T BE THERE WITH YOU!!!
