Ruth

   Ruth E. Brodd, age 86 of Kenyon died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at
the Kenyon Sunset Home.
   A memorial service will be held at Prairieville United Methodist Church,
Highway 60 seven miles east of Faribault on Saturday, August 18 at 2 p.m.,
with the Reverend Elden Eklund officiating. A reception will be held at
Ruth's home following the services. Private interment will be in the Kenyon
Cemetery.
   A memorial visitation will be held in the church for one hour prior to
the service on Saturday.
   Ruth Elaine, daughter of Andrew H. and Lydia C. (Bultman) Story was born
on October 23, 1920 on the family farm.  She married Ole S. Brodd on
December 1, 1956 at the family home, and he preceded her in death on
February 11, 1996.  Ruth completed her undergraduate work at Winona and
later she received her Masters Degree at Mankato.  She was a teacher in
special education, formerly employed by the Minnesota State Academy for the
Blind, Faribault and later by the Kenyon School District.  Later Ruth and
her sister Helen operated Carlson Wagonlit Travel satellite office in her
home.
   She is survived by her three sons, Steven (and partner Christopher
Cherry) Brodd of Washington, DC, Jeffrey (and Jill) Brodd of Sacramento, CA
and Jonathan (and Michelle) Brodd of Stillwater; one step daughter, Betty
(and Robert) Curvey of Munster, Indiana; two grandchildren, Michael and Anna
Brodd; two step grandchildren, Lee and Elizabeth Curvey; two step great
grandchildren, Trace and Tanner Curvey; one sister, Helen Story of
Northfield; one brother, Allan (and Jane) Story of Kenyon; nieces, nephews
and other relatives.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one brother,
Burnham Story.
   Memorial gifts may be directed to Prairieville United Methodist Church.
