Norvin
E. Becher, age 88, of Faribault, died on Sunday, December 21, 2008, at the
Kenyon Sunset Home.
Funeral services will be at the Peace
Lutheran Church, Faribault, on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
with the Reverend Robert L. Mundahl and the Reverend Maynard Spitzack,
officiating. Interment will be in the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park,
Faribault.
Visitation will be held in the Boldt
Funeral Home, Faribault on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. and
also in the church for one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
Norvin, the son of John and Clara (Hellbusch)
Becher, was born on January 27, 1920 in Columbus, NE. He served in the U.
S. Army during W.W. II. He married Lucille Sorge on December 28, 1944 in
Sidney, NE. He was a farmer in Richland Township, Rice County with his
sons until 1973 when he began selling feed for Vigortone as a field man.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two
sons, David (and Cheryl) Becher and Curt (and Michelle) Becher all of
Faribault and one daughter, Carmen (and Virgil) Pamperin of Geneseo, IL;
11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard and Dorothy
Becher of Columbus, NE; and one sister, Lorna (and Donald) Warnke of
Meadow Grove, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
one brother Arthur Becher; and one sister Viola Berends.

One of the last times we visited Grandpa Becher at home, he played a joke on Kylie. It was the hen, rooster, pullet trick. I have a great picture that captures a special moment even if it was a trick. We will all miss Grandpa and Great Grandpa Becher; he was a very special man!
