Oscar W. Allen, age 89, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park.

         Services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, Faribault, on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Richard L. Jorgensen officiating.  Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

         Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday, June 11^th from 3 to 7 p.m. and also at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service.

         Oscar W., the son of Gustav and Alma Allen, was born on October 20, 1919 in Castle Rock.  He married Mabel M. “Mae” Tuma on October 1, 1942 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Faribault. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2002.  Oscar farmed in the Castle Rock area and later was employed as a carpenter by several construction companies in Faribault, including Stan Pacolt Construction.

         He is survived by three children, James (and Phyllis) Allen of Audubon, Gerald Allen of Moorhead and Jeffrey (and Connie) Allen of Hill City, SD; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Edith Suchla of Princeton; one sister in law, Lorraine Allen of Las Vegas, NV; and by other relatives and many friends.

         He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mae; one sister, Merith Morris; and one brother, Elmer.
