Kenneth Townley, age 82 of Hastings and
formerly Faribault, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Hennepin County
Medical Center, Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be held at the Boldt
Funeral Home, Faribault on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the
Reverend Robert L. Mundahl, pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, Faribault
officiating. Interment will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault with
military rites provided by Rice County Veterans Association.
Visitation will be held at the Boldt
Funeral Home, Faribault on Thursday, April 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. and also
for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Kenneth S., the son of Seth and Mary (Pagenkopf)
Townley was born June 26, 1926 in Faribault. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II. Ken was a well-known John Deere mechanic for Pirkl
Implement in Faribault. He was a member of VFW Post 1562, Faribault. He
moved to Hastings in the early 90’s and was a member of the Hastings Fire
Department. Ken spent his last years in the Veteran’s Home in Hastings.
He is survived by five children, Marjean
Townley of Prior Lake, Keith (and Mary Jo) Townley of Rosemount, Susan
Townley of Prior Lake, Joyce (and Jon) Stevens of North Carolina and Gail
Townley of Prior Lake; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
the mother of his children, Joan; and one brother, Jack Townley.
