Thelma J. (Mrs.
Herman) Schlie, age 77, of Morristown, died on Friday, October 17, 2008 at
the Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at
the St. Canice Catholic Church, Kilkenny. Interment will be held in the
Calvary Cemetery, Kilkenny.
Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on
Monday, October 20, 2008 from 3 to 8 p.m. and also in the church for one
hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
Thelma Jane, the daughter of James and AnnaBell (Balfe) Hoban was born on
July 22, 1931 in Faribault. She graduated from Montgomery High School in
1950. On August 12, 1953, she married Herman Schlie of Morristown. Thelma
lived in Morristown all of her married life. She was a member of the
American Legion Post #149 Ladies Auxiliary, Morristown for 56 years. Thelma
was also a member of St. Canice Catholic Church Rosary Society.
She is survived by her husband, Herman; six children, James (and
Cindy) Schlie of Faribault, Colleen (and Steve) Johnson of St. Peter, John
(and Karen) Schlie of Morristown, Sue (and John) Schiefelbein of Morristown,
Terry Schlie of Waterville and David (and Lynda) Schlie of Morristown; 15
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Catherine (and Bob)
Whitney of Waite Park; one brother in law, Clem (and Yvonne) Herman of
Robinsdale; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Agnes
Herman; one brother, James Hoban, Jr.; and one daughter, Dawn Schlie.
In lieu of flowers the family prefer memorial gift to St. Canice
Catholic Church of Kilkenny or donor’s choice.
