Robert D. Pirkl, age 86, of Morristown,
died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be at Trinity
Lutheran Church, North Morristown, on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10 a.m.
with the Reverend Gregg Pavelski, officiating. Interment will be in
Concordia Cemetery, North Morristown with veteran’s military rites
provided by American Legion Post 149, Morristown.
Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral
Home, Faribault on Friday, June 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. and also at the church
for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Robert Donald Pirkl, was born February 9,
1923 in Owatonna. He attended a country school in Steele County. In
1937, he moved to Faribault to live with his aunt and uncle. He was
drafted in 1945 and served in the Navy (Sea Bees). In 1948, he met his
future wife and married Dorothy Villwock on October 2, 1949. They started
farming in Shieldsville and later the North Morristown area. Dorothy
preceded him in death on March 7, 2006. Bob enjoyed spending time with
his family. Some of his hobbies and interest were fishing, bird watching,
gardening, tending his flowers and mowing his lawn. He was a life long
member of Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown and a member of the
Morristown Community Club and American Legion Post #149, Morristown.
He is survived by two sons, James (and
Vicki) Pirkl of Faribault and Ronald (and Lori) Pirkl of Kilkenny; four
grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, Michael and Melissa Pirkl; two step
grandchildren, Dustin and Kyle Crawmer; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved
wife, Dorothy; parents; one half brother and other relatives.
