Helen and family: I am so sorry for your loss. I have known your mother most of my life. When I was 13, my mother,Betty Dierking, made me go to work with her out at Mealey's. That is when I first met your mother. It was an aweful job but your mother made it fun. Helen, I think you started working there shortly after that. I can remember some of the customers coming in and asking if Helen was working (especially the cops). They were disappointed if she was off. Again, I am sorry for your loss. Nancy Westerhouse

I remember riding the train from Kansas to visit you guys in Minnesota. Whenever I wanted to ask Aunt Helen something I'd begin by saying, "Hey You" and Aunt Helen would always say "My name is not 'Hey You'". I loved your mom's spaghetti and staying the night at your house, because your mom let us do more stuff. She will be missed and always loved. Jackie

Helen and Pam...I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Helen and my mother were best of friends and loved each other dearly. I remember Helen as if it were yesterday, even though I have been away from Minnesota for 25 years. Helen always had a smile and a joke for me whenever she came over to our house. She would always take a lousy day and make it a happy day. We truly need more Helen Manleys in the world. Take Care....Dave Dierking

Jane and family: Although I didn't know your mother/grandmother well there was something in her eyes that I liked. Maybe it was a "fiestiness" I was reading I'm not sure, but it was there. I'm grateful that I got to talk with her from time to time. We will see you Friday. Take care. Joe Basil

Helen and my Mother, Marian Borgstahl, were very good friends from the time their husbands were in the service until the two women were in the same apartment complex at retirement. We send our deepest sympathies to Helen's family, I know you will miss her, she was a great gal.

We're so sorry to hear about Helen, she and my mother Marion were good buddies. My mom always spoke fondly of Helen and all the good times they had together. We also enjoyed seeing and talking with Helen whenever we saw her at their apartment building. Please accept our condolences, we will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.
