I am sorry to hear of Hazel's life coming to an end all too soon. She was a delight to work with at the junior high. She always had a humorous outlook on the dimmest of situations and a lovely smile on her face. May God bless your memories of her in your hearts. My prayers are with you.

My son Neal had Hazel for a math teacher in middle school (1994-95). He and a friend would stay after school for help. When I would pick him up- he would say- "Mrs. Evans makes the math easy." She was a good teacher and "got through" to my son. Her family is in my prayers. God Bless. Mary

As children we would climb the tree at Grandma and Grandpa Handeland, play softball in the pasture without running over a cow pie, play cards on the bed, move bales of hay around in the barn to make a fort. She wrote a history of our grandfather and gave a copy to all the cousins. Hazel was my cousin and my friend. I will miss her.

Hazel was just the best cousin! It was fun to be in her presence because laughter would always bubble from that spirit of goodwill she carried in her heart. I have admired her sense of humor and joy in learning new things. As a child, she taught me how to save the frosting on the cake for last. Enough is as good as a feast! Love to all of you, Carolyn
